THE STORY BEHIND KALSI AYURVEDA; OUR BRAND, VALUES AND MOTIVATION.
The sister science of Yoga that got left behind.
Yoga has hit the mainstream in recent years, but while many people already know something about yoga, the vast majority still don’t know very much about Ayurveda. It seems that poor old Ayurveda got left behind!
"A yogi who does not practice Ayurveda is only half a yogi"
There’s a saying in Ayurveda that “A Yogi who does not embrace Ayurveda is only half a Yogi". Ayurveda and Yoga are so closely interconnected, like two branches from the same great tree of ancient Vedic wisdom, yet so many yogis don't even know what Ayurveda is all about.
BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN THE WORLD'S OLDEST
HEALTH SYSTEM
AND OUR FAST PACED MODERN LIVES
Kalsi Ayurveda was born from a mission to create a brand that would bridge the gap between a 5000 year old health system on the one side and applying this ancient wisdom into our modern lifestyles.
Humanity has accelerated at such a phenomenal rate in recent years, to the point that many of us feel disconnected from the natural world.
This is the number one reason, why we at Kalsi believe the world needs Ayurveda now more than ever, because fundamentally, Ayurveda helps us to create a lifestyle that synchronises with nature. Not just that of the natural world (adapting and responding to the elemental and seasonal changes), but more so, towards our very own personal nature.
“Know thyself” as the old saying goes!
Ayurveda on the surface might seem complicated, but once you grasp the basics, everything actually begins to make a lot of sense. In fact, Ayurveda, we believe, is probably the most intuitive approach to healthy living, because it’s all about…
tuning into yourself and making personalised dietary and lifestyle choices that work well for you.
We hear people talking more and more nowadays about the power of traditional and integrative medicines, but what many of us don’t really have, is a tangible or actionable method to follow, or more importantly, one that we can relate to.Ayurveda is a system that fundamentally emphasises the importance of…
living healthily NOW, as a means to PREVENT any illness or disease from arising further down the line.
The wisdom in this idea is profound (prevention rather than cure) and I’m sure it would equally save our healthcare a lot of money if more people put it into practice, yet just look around and see how far removed it is from the status quo of the world today.
Where so many of us experience burnout. It’s like we’re constantly pressing this self-destruct button. We run ourselves into the ground, with stress, over-work, lack of proper nourishment, lack of rest and a lack of regular exercise, that we eventually fall down flat on our faces.
Then, once we’ve drained our life-spirit, we either get ill or contract some disease and then desperately seek a cure or saving grace; usually in the form of a magic pill or expensive medical treatment, that’s going to dig us out of this big hole we’ve just dug ourselves into.
Sounds familiar?
This is the vicious cycle of the modern world, which we all can relate to, whether it is first hand or witnessed amongst our nearest and dearest.
In this context, the world really needs a simple, back-to-basics, approach to diet and healthy living, which Ayurveda can definitely provide some, if not all of the solutions.
And the funniest thing about all of this is that these ideas, the principles of Ayurveda, have actually been around for thousands of years!
But, it’s only now, as the world moves towards this sense of weariness and detachment from the natural world, that we get this craving, this hunger and appetite for re-discovering, reconnecting and ultimately recognising the power in holistic practices like Ayurveda.
So that, my friends is what motivates us all to work hard, here at Kalsi Ayurveda, to humbly serve you our simple and modern flavour of Ayurveda. We hope that you will join us on that journey so that together, through learning a little something about these simple principles and rituals, we all might discover something new about ourselves and hopefully live happily and healthily ever after.
